Annie Auhoon

Annie Au Hoon is a Parent Representative elected by the Aha Makua on May 16, 2009.  Annie is a Native Hawaiian from Kewalo Uka/ Papakolea.  She is a community leader that is known for her skills in collaboration, partnering, unifying and building community groups around common challenges and solutions and has passionately served community for over 18 years. Her ‘ohana, the Hudson Ohana, has been with HKM since 2005.  She currently has 2 daughters at HKM. Her Ohana looks forward to 5 more years of grooming successful Haumana and HKM Aina Hoopulapula.



Kaapuni Asaivao

Kaapuni Asaivao is a lifelong resident of Papakolea.  She is currently employed as Program Coordinator of Kula no na Po`e Hawai`i, a Papakolea community-based educational non-profit.  In her position as Program Coordinator, she coordinates the activities for the Papakolea youth enrolled in the community after-school program.  She attended Halau Ku Mana in its opening year.  She is a single mother with a 2-year old son.



Pat Brandt

Pat Brandt served as a staff member to Governors Ariyoshi and Waihee. She recently retired from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, where she worked as the aide to Trustee Haunani Apoliona.  She is currently Executive Director of Na Kupa'a o Kuhio, a non profit formed to raise funds for DHHL homestead infrastructure so more homes can be built.  She
also serves on the boards of the Nanakuli Housing Corporation and the Maunalaha
Valley Community Association.




Kapi`olani Ha`o

Kumu Hula Kapiolani Hao directs Halau Ke Kiai a’o Hula. She sas volunteered to work with HKM on hula and oli since the school's opening year and has been instrumental in previous end-of-the-year ho’ike productions. She has also taken several HKM ‘opio on trips to Alaska and Japan for cultural performance and sharing.



Mahealani Kaawa

Joslyn Mahealani Kaawa, the designated Cultural Steward
of the area also known as Makiki Valley. She currently shares a portion of 
her kuleana with HKM where `Opu (the big white tent area) is located. She
has always envisioned a hula pa in the valley.



Kahunawai Wright

Kahunawai is Director of Native Hawaiian student services for Hawaiinuiakea School of Hawaiian Knowledge at UH Manoa. She earned her PhD in Education from UCLA. She was born and raised in Kalihi, Oahu and has extensive experience in educational administration and research, as well as community-building and grassroots organizing.
